Terms & Conditions

Please read carefully. By booking with us you agree to the following:

 

Conditions & Booking Details

 

● The Getaway caters for Adults-only stays ~ Unless the site is booked for Private Hire whereby children are welcome
● The person making the booking must be at least 18 years of age.
● Large group gatherings are not permitted unless agreed by prior arrangement
● We do not accommodate Hen / Stag parties
● We are unable to take Caravans gatherings are not permitted unless by
● Each unit booked includes parking for 1 vehicle only. If you require extra parking please contact us.
● Unless advised otherwise, please use the Bay or Accommodation as noted on your booking confirmation.
● To book Same Day Arrivals, please ring: +353 87 352 7851.

 

Payments & Discount Options
 

● Full payment must be made at the time of booking, except for certain Glamping booking arrangements.

Payment Options (For Glamping Only)

● 1) Full payment at the time of booking

● 2) 25% non-refundable deposit with a 75% balance to be paid 28 days before the arrival date

● 3) 25% non-refundable deposit with monthly payments thereafter to be finalised 28 days before the arrival date

NB: You forfeit any monies paid if you do not pay the balance by the agreed date

Discount for all booking types

● Every 7th night booked directly via our website is free and will be automatically deducted.
● This applies for bookings of 7 or 14 consecutive nights.

 

Accommodation Details
 

Glamping Cabins & Glamping Belle Tents

● All Glamping is a 2 night Minimum Stay .
● Dogs are not permitted with Glamping Bookings except for The Red Kite & The Peregrine Pet Friendly Cabins
● If you book a Glamping unit that comes with a Hot Tub. You must ask our permission, if anyone other than those on the booking, wish to use the facility

Glamping Cabin Season : All Year

● The Hen Harrier Cabin - Maximum of 4 people
● The Red Kite Cabin - Maximum of 2 people & 2 medium Dogs
● The Peregrine Cabin - Maximum of 2 people & 2 small Dogs
 

Glamping Belle Tent Season: 1st June - 30th September

● Seascape Belle Tent - Maximum of 2 people
● Woodland View Belle Tent - Maximum of 2 people

 

Motorhomes & Campervans

● Motorhome Season: All Year
● Maximum of 5 people per Parking Bay.
● Maximum of 2 dogs per a bay.
● Awnings / Pup Tents / Roof & Trailer Box Tents are all permitted but only if they are not large and will not interfere with the neighbouring guests.
 

Camping Tents

● Season: 1st June - 30th September ( weather permitting )
● We cater for tents up to 4m x 4m only.
● Maximum of 4 people per pitch.
● Dogs are not permitted with tent bookings.

 

Holiday Details

Holiday Confirmation

Following your booking, you will receive a Holiday Confirmation. Please bring a digital or paper copy of this when you arrive.

 

Booking Contract

The completion of a telephone conversation or receipt of a Holiday Confirmation email, does not constitute a contract between the guest and The Getaway. A contract shall only exist, once the Holiday Confirmation is presented on arrival and the party is seen to be as described and is in compliance with the Terms & Conditions.

We reserve the right to refuse access or terminate the booking / stay of any guest(s) whose party make-up or behaviour interferes (or may interfere) with the general comfort of our other guests or the neighbouring properties. In this event no refund will be given.

If the Terms & Conditions are broken by any members of your group, whereupon you are asked to leave the premises or are denied access then no refund will be given.

 

Arrival / Departure Times & Booking Allocation

Arrival times

Afternoon: 3:00pm – 8:00pm

Departure times

Morning: 7:00am – 12:00am

If you have any issues related to arrival or departure times, please inform us and we will do our best to accommodate you.

 

Booking Amendments

No refunds or discounts will be given for late arrivals, early departures or inclement weather.

 

Cancellation or Amendments made by The Getaway

● If for any reason we have to cancel or amend your booking, we will do our best to provide a suitable alternative date.
● If a suitable date can not be found we will fully refund your booking. No compensation will accompany this refund.

 

Cancellation by the Customer

If notice is given more than 21 days before the arrival date:

● A full refund will be given.
● The payment will be refunded to the card that was used to make the payment

If notice is given less than 21 days before the arrival date:

● The full value of the booking can be transferred to create a future booking.
● This credit can be used for any booking type within 12 months of the credit confirmation date.
● To avoid being double charged; when you wish to use your credit, please text or email with alternative dates for the booking and we can organise it for you.

 

Amendments by the Customer

● If you wish to amend your booking please notify us and we will do our best to accommodate you.
● If no agreement can be made and therefore the booking must be cancelled, the above cancellation policy will apply.

 

Extension of stay

Please notify us if you wish to extend your stay and we will do our best to accommodate you.

 

Day Visitors

If you have any day visitors who are not included in the booking, please notify us. Anyone on site after 8pm will be regarded as an extra guest and incur a €5 charge.

 

Site Health & Safety / Welfare Rules

Liability

1. The person making the booking is responsible for the conduct of their group and will be held liable for any damages or loss caused to any buildings, property and equipment of The Getaway, fellow guests and surrounding neighbours.

2. Customers must ensure that their property is secured. Your personal belongings, vehicles and their accessories and contents are left at your own risk. The Getaway or its staff will not be liable for the loss, theft, or damage of any property.

3. The Getaway, its facilities and the surrounding area, are used entirely at the customer's own risk. We or our staff will not be held liable for any injury, accident, or mishap to any person on the site or its surroundings.

 

Welfare & Safety
 

1. No person under 18 years is permitted to stay at The Getaway unless accompanied by a parent or guardian.

2. Children must be supervised by a suitable and responsible person at all times, for their own safety and the respect of other guests.

3. Please make yourself aware of the fire assembly point located at the site entrance gate.

4. Fires are not permitted anywhere on the site, other than in the Fire Pit.

5. Fires and BBQs must be lit and supervised at all times, by a responsible adult and then minded until such time as they are deemed safe.

6. Do not light Fires & BBQs if the weather is windy and they could blow over or fire be spread.

7. BBQs are only permitted if raised off the ground.

8. Alcohol should be consumed sensibly and your enjoyment of it be kept discreet.

9. Overly noisy or anti-social behaviour could result in the individual or group being asked to leave.

10. Be mindful of disturbing the other guests especially when socialising outside. Please keep noise to a minimum after 10pm.

11. The use of generators is not permitted.

 

Hot Tubs
 

By booking with us you are agreeing to the below terms and conditions.

1. Whoever makes the booking is responsible for the other members of the group.

2. If you fail to follow the printed guidelines of how to use the Hot Tub and it or its surrounding facilities are damaged, you will be liable for the cost of the damages made.

3. Pregnant women, people with medical conditions such as Cardiovascular issues, High Blood pressure etc must consult with their doctor before using these facilities.

4. Persons using medication should seek medical advice before using the facilities since some medication may induce drowsiness, affect heart rate, blood pressure and circulation.

5. Do not use the facilities if you have an open wound.

6. Do not drink alcohol or take drugs before you use the facilities as you could become nauseated, dizzy or unconscious.

7. Get out immediately if you start to feel dizzy, nauseous, or lightheaded, and let a member of staff know you are not feeling well.

8. Do not wear body creams or tanning lotions / oils.

9. When wet, the sides, walk areas or floors may be slippery; use caution when moving around the facilities.

10. Do not take glass drinking glasses into the Hot Tub in case of breakage.

11. Maximum capacity of 5 people in the Hot Tub at any one time.

12. Please do not be seated on the top of the Hot Tub.

13. Do not stay in the Hot Tub for longer than 20 minutes without taking a break before re-entering. Listen to your body!

 

Dogs
 

We want to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all our guests, both human and canine and therefore we have to have guidelines.

1. Keep Your Dog on a Lead:
   Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times, both on the site and when walking in the local area.

a) Due to incidents involving dogs killing livestock in the surrounding mountains we have to be strict about this. We are surrounded by farmland with livestock, areas of pristine wildlife habitat and there are also our pets living onsite. Please always stay on the roads and tracks when walking locally. Just because an area looks empty or uninhabited, it does not mean it is!

b) You would also be surprised how many people are frightened of dogs.

1. No Unsupervised Dogs:
   Under no circumstances can your dog be left unsupervised in the cabin or anywhere on the property.

2. Dog Run Usage:
   Your dog may be let off-lead in the designated "Dog Run," but only if they won’t jump or dig their way out. Please do not leave them unsupervised in this area.

3. Hygiene is Key:
   For the safety and comfort of all guests, please clean up after your dog, both on-site and when walking locally. Dog waste spreads disease and nobody wants to step in it. Please dispose of waste bags in the Black Bin (General Waste) located at the Service Bay, in the center of the site.

4. Aggressive or Disruptive Dogs:
   If your dog is aggressive towards other dogs or people, barks persistently, or if the rules regarding dogs are not followed, you may be asked to leave with no refund.

Eco Policy

1. Due to the nature of our Wetland Waste System, no toilet chemicals containing formaldehyde can be emptied in the Chemical Disposal. If in doubt use Green Chemical only (units of it can be bought from us).

2. Do not litter The Getaway or the surrounding countryside. Leave No Trace.

3. We strive to recycle as much as possible, therefore we ask you take the time to split your rubbish according to the bins provided. Please do not put household items in the waste bins.

4. The Shower facilities are provided free of charge. We respectfully ask that you do not exploit your time in using them, in the interest of the environment and for the sake of the other guests. Please leave the rooms as you would wish to find them.

5. Please turn off all Lights & Appliances at The Getaway after use.

 

Complaints

If you have any issues please speak to a member of staff asap. Complaints must be brought to our attention during your stay in order for us to try and resolve them.

Lost Property

Any personal items left behind on departure will be returned to you on receipt of a stamped, self-addressed envelope or pre-arranged courier pick up.

Items will not be held after 30 days if no notice is given.
